  6. Pour half of the mixture into the prepared tray and spread evenly.

  8. Spread half of the mixture on top and carefully smooth the surface.
  9. Arrange the rest of the apples on top and press lightly.
  10. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until cake has risen and is golden brown on top. The cake will feel spongy but firm and will begin to pull away slightly from the edges of the pan. The apples should be soft.
  11. Let the cake cool, then use a palette knife to loosen the sides and turn the cake over.
  12. Remove the parchment paper and let cool.
  13. Finally, sprinkle some powdered sugar on top of the cake.

A colleague recently came back from a trip to Bulgaria and told us how delicious a traditional pastry there is. This pastry is called banitsa, which is traditionally made with cheese, but you can try it with other ingredients as well. She was so excited that we all wanted to try the recipe together.   4. Mix everything very well with your hands and bake at 200 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.
  5. Then remove the rosemary sprigs and peel the garlic cloves.
  6. Then add the cooking cream, grated mozzarella, and oregano. Mix well until the cheese melts.
  7. Puree the ingredients in the baking sheet and add the whole wheat pasta. Mix well.
  8. Finally, serve with grated parmesan and fresh basil.
